Adult Painting Workshop
Time & Location
About the Event
Julie Latayan guides students on an exploration of different surfaces. The class will teach students to create a painting using negative space as a guide. Painting subjects will include people, sea life and animals. Her practice includes working from photos (not cell phones!) as reference. Students are encouraged to bring a photo to paint but photos will also be provided!
Students will be provided with beverages but must bring their own lunch or dine out at one of the restaurants in walking distance from the gallery.
About the teacher: A self-taught artist, Julie began her career as a painter and muralist. Her love of art and wish to share her talents led her to teach high school art for five years, and later open her own gallery/studio. When Julie is not exhibiting at art fairs or filling gallery orders, she now teaches sculpting workshops for adults and children. She is an accomplished carpenter, handyman, wife, and mom.
Safety precautions: We requires each student to wear a mask. Students will be seated at their own six foot table, located at a safe distance away from others.
