About the Event
Midge Baudouin will guide guests through her creative process with a presentation commemorating the release of her featured article in QuiltFolk Magazine at 2pm. Guests can gather in person or virtually during an Instagram Live stream. The artist will walk through her creative process from ideas to finished product. She will delve into indigo dying, cyanotype, screen printing, stitching and more for a 30-minute-long conversation followed by a Q&A session with the audience. Sourcing inspiration and cultivating techniques will be illuminated by the artist. A spotlight will shine on her Love Quilt, a physical homage to the everlasting love of her late wife, Allison Stillwell.
About the Opening Reception:
Jeanine Taylor Folk Art welcomes Midge Baudouin back to the gallery for a celebration of love, creativity, and recognition in honor of a featured article in Quiltfolk Magazine. This magazine release party also falls on the birthday of Midge’s greatest muse, quilting virtuoso and late wife, Allison Stillwell. Guests will get a chance to view the Love Quilt created from scraps of unfinished work left behind after the death of Stillwell, tenderly hand stitched together by Baudouin.
The Love Quilt will be showcased in addition to many of Midge’s quilts featured in Issue 19 of Quiltfolk. Midge will be signing magazines, taking the time to discuss her artistic process and supplying a trove of handstitched treasures to be raffled off throughout the event. Interested parties can use PROMO CODE: MidgeQF19 to receive 20% off the purchase of their magazine at quiltfolk.com.
