Location: 211 East 1st Street, Sanford, FL
Time: 6:00pm to 9:00pm
Rambunctious Ardor opens Saturday, May 19th from 6-9PM

Irish born visionary artist, Karl Mullen arrives at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art for his new show, Rambunctious Ardor. Mullen’s spirited freedom creates a visual world of imaginative portraiture depicting princes, saints, punks, and everyone in between. Come early to meet the artist and listen to live original music by Karl Mullen.

Mullen’s self-taught nature allows him the freedom of creating beyond binary modes, building a world of energetic and connected beauty. In lieu of traditional paint brush and paint, Mullen employs walnut oil and natural pigments spread across the page with his fingers. Mullen finds inspiration in Irish folklore, Catholic saints, and punk music.

Various featured interiors Laurel Carter, Amber Clore, and Mickey Searcy.

“One major joy of operating a folk art gallery is placing art in the homes of collectors. It has been a dream to incorporate the ingenuity of interior designers for a multifaceted show here at the gallery unlike anything else.” Jeanine Taylor says.

Discover the handsome juxtaposition of a midcentury modern seating arrangement positioned around Ruby C Williams’ fruit paintings. Each designer brings a different element and eye for beauty with an appreciation for self-taught, southern contemporary folk art.
