Cheers to the New Year!
Wishing you a new year of health, wealth and happiness from all of us here at Jeanine Taylor Folk Art! This is a turning point we've all been waiting for and we have a few ideas on how to celebrate the close of 2020 in Southern style!
We managed pick up our black eyed peas and collard greens early in the week and will feature a side of our favorite cornbread mix purchased on a recent trip to the House of Blues. If you're unsure of the roots of this Southern tradition, we recommend check out this article by Southern Living that explains it all.
Have you ever wondered why the world gravitates toward lighting explosive fireworks to ring in the new year? According to our friends at Wikipedia, the earth shattering noise is said to ward off misfortune and evil spirits. Rather than explosives, this year we will be blasting our House of Blues Spotify playlist to usher in good vibes for the year ahead. Click here to take a listen and let us know what you think!
What traditions will you be implementing this year? Let us know!
