Wondrous Surprises Abound as February Takes Off!

My appreciation goes out to so many of you who joined us virtually, in person or both for Theresa Disney’s spectacular winter show, Gratitude. I think many of us are feeling some relief to turn over a new year and Theresa’s show brought those feelings out in force. Vibrant, boisterous florals with her trademark hand painted frames enchanted and entertained all our guests. Theresa’s show runs through February 20th with several pieces still available for purchase!

We love surprises and were delighted to receive a special request from the American Visionary Art Museum in Baltimore (one of my favorite museums). AVAM created a virtual screening and art workshop utilizing our documentary, Sculpting History: Mr. Imagination’s Sanford Memory Wall. In 2007, Mr. Imagination spent over 3 weeks creating a community memory wall installation on the outside wall of our gallery. Local residents brought Mr. Imagination their trinkets and mementos, pressing them into the wet cement, reminiscent of an early folk art tradition, memory jars. Film students from the University of Central Florida created the community treasured video.

Our building façade was the first piece of public community art in our historic town of Sanford, FL. I encourage interested parties to register for the AVAM’s free watch party and workshop. It’s a great opportunity to connect with art lovers across the world!

Artfully yours,

Jeanine

A note about our new arrivals -

The start of our new year begins on a high note with a brand new selection of art from old mainstays and new favorites.

Take a moment to view a new artist in our arsenal, Jon Napoles. Jon's story is as fascinating as his "reverse paintings" on reclaimed window frames.

Another new comer straight from the Florida panhandle is Kreg Yingst. Kreg's masterful woodblock prints of music legends sparks a sense of nostalgia and rhythm.

We know you'll enjoy a comeback from the elegant, Cecel Allee. Her understated florals are a beacon of peace and comfort after 2020's notorious spinout.

We'd also like to draw attention to a new varied collection by Georgia peach, Bailey Jack. Bailey's sense of whimsy and wonderment are precisely captured in her paintings.

A recent trip to Bealseville, Fl comes with a selection of rare and vintage paintings by Ruby C. Williams. We've received many phone calls inquiry about Ruby and we are happy to report that she is well and still painting!

Who's in the mood for an art class?

Peep below at our growing calendar of art classes offered throughout February and March! Click the corresponding links to get additional details or to purchase tickets.

All classes have a max capacity of six people per class. This ensures each participant will have their own six foot work table sufficiently spaced away from other guests. Masks are required to be worn at all times. Have a question? Let us know! Feel free to call or email the gallery with any inquiry.
